This chapter discusses general wireless concepts. In Windows Server 2003, Microsoft has added several tools and configuration options to make it easier to add a wireless network to the environment. To properly manage a wireless environment, it is necessary to familiarize with the technologies available to wireless users, the risks associated with wireless, security concerns of a wireless connection, and proper configuration of Windows for use with wireless connectivity.
In context to Windows Server 2003, wireless technologies play a large part in exploring how to manage the network environment. Wireless technologies are becoming increasingly popular as the prices associated with wireless solutions are dramatically decreasing.
